    Clare Valley has many great small and boutique wineries, however Shut the Gate is well worth the visit. The cellar door has a lot of personality; its warm, casual approach to wines is delightfully different. Wines are also quite affordable. Enjoy a tasting (with some complimentary cheese!) with staff who are knowledgable and happy to help. Highly recommended.

    Rocking up near closing time as we were passing through with our two young boys we were welcomed with nothing but a warm smile and excellent knowledge of the history of the surrounding area and the lovely wines to taste. I was also given a rundown on the awesome cd that was playing from the lovely staff member. A great place that I will revisit one day when I return to Australia. Thank you Shut The Gate Wines.
